Indoor Show Jumping - 3 of 7
Venue : Brook Farm

Our show jumping series has been growing in popularity over the past few years. A points system operates throughout the year with a points trophy being awarded at the AGM to the junior and senior SWDRC member and horse/pony combination with the most points at the end of the season. Points are only awarded once membership has been paid.

First to sixth from classes 2 - 5 inclusive also qualify for the Show Jumping Championship on Saturday 19 August 2006. Championship classes are open to all competitors however only the two highest placed competitors who have qualified for the class are eligible to win the Sash and Champion rosette & Reserve Champion rosette.

SWDRC show jumping points are allocated as follows:
1st - 6pts, 2nd - 5pts, 3rd - 4pts, 4th - 3pts, 5th - 2pts, 6th - 1pt

EVENT NEWS

The final indoor competition of the Saffron Walden & District Riding Club's show jumping series was held at Brook Farm on Saturday 22 April.

The first class of the day was the Novice. Here the first 5 competitors were separated by less than a second. The winner was Laura Flynn on Chantallie who beat Olivia Potter on Eclipse into 2nd and Emily Edgar on Magic, whom she had only had for 1 day, into 3rd.

The Intermediate saw a win for another new partnership. Emma Richardson on Corkie proved to be the fastest of the only two double clears in the class, beating the Novice winner, Laura Flynn into 2nd. Emily Edgar took another 3rd rosette this time riding David.

Jo Wilkins riding Nero comfortably won the Small Open by 2 seconds. Robert Barker on Just Mefys took 3rd with Suzannah Engelmann on Mr Chubbs a further second in arrears in 3rd.

The Open saw a win for Robert Barker on Just Mefys with not only the fastest time in the jump off but also the only clear. Anna Rutterford on Well Read was 2nd with Sarah Pyke on Dan in 3rd.
