Indoor Show Jumping - 2 of 7
Venue : Brook Farm

Our show jumping series has been growing in popularity over the past few years. A points system operates throughout the year with a points trophy being awarded at the AGM to the junior and senior SWDRC member and horse/pony combination with the most points at the end of the season. Points are only awarded once membership has been paid.

First to sixth from classes 2 - 5 inclusive also qualify for the Show Jumping Championship on Saturday 19 August 2006. Championship classes are open to all competitors however only the two highest placed competitors who have qualified for the class are eligible to win the Sash and Champion rosette & Reserve Champion rosette.

SWDRC show jumping points are allocated as follows:
1st - 6pts, 2nd - 5pts, 3rd - 4pts, 4th - 3pts, 5th - 2pts, 6th - 1pt

EVENT NEWS

The second event in the Saffron Walden & District Riding Club's 2006 show jumping series was another indoor competition at Brook Farm Equestrian Centre.

The first two classes of the day went to Joanna Snell riding Harry winning both classes by exactly one second. Second place in the Novice went to Emily Duff and Korella with Megan Lindsey taking third. Runner up in the Intermediate was Suzannah Engelmann on Blu-Tack with Laura Flynn and Tilly in third.

Emily Edgar repeated her Intermediate result from the previous show in the Small Open, taking first and second on Stirling and David. Third place went to Suzannah Engelmann on Mr Chubbs

The Open was a close fought thing with the winner being Sue Stringer riding Swingalong who took victory over Emily Edgar on Stirling by 0.4 seconds. Jenny Engwell on Ulhan came third.

A Chase-Me-Charlie was again added at the end of the day. Sue Stringer on Swingalong cleared over 4'0" to take the win with Emily Edgar on David also making it to 4'0" in second place.
