A number of SWDRC members are headed for the British Riding Club’s National Championships this year. The senior area qualifiers for dressage and show jumping were held on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd July at Norton Heath.
The club’s Riding Test team of Laura Martin, Claire Engelmann, Suzannah Engelmann and Ida de Fouw won their competition with Claire and Laura winning their tests.
Lisa Spence came second in her Dressage test on Annie Rose and this proved good enough to earn her individual qualification for the Championships.
In the Novice Show Jumping, Leah Gypps on Tommy repeated her success of last year by winning individually and therefore earning her qualification for the Championships.
The club’s Open show Jumping team had a comprehensive victory in their class to earn qualification for Jo Wilkins, Lisa Spence, Rebecca Harvey and Jen Whitton, with Lisa and Rebecca putting in the best two performances of the class.
The National Championships take place at Lincoln Showground on 9th/10th September
