The 2006-07 series came to a close on Friday 23 February when we held our annual prize giving ceremony. As in previous years, prizes were funded by the proceeds of the Tuck Shop which raised a staggering £80 over the five shows. The majority of this was spent on chocolate with a few bottles of wine (for the mums) thrown in.
Turnout at the prize giving was good, but if you didn’t come and see your name on the results list please ring me quickly (01440 730448) before I consume your prize!
For the third year running the overall Championship was won by a boy, Bowen McCrory, much to the delight of our chairman, Dennis Bailey. Come on girls! Second place went to Becky Humphrys, with Ellie Berisford in third place.
I’d like to give a big thank you to Gail Deuce and Tracey Orton who stepped in to help with the timekeeping and collecting ring and to my husband, Andrew, for organizing the car park and giving lessons in reversing trailers! Thanks also go to the Tunnicliffe family for running the tuck shop and thus providing the funds for the prize giving.
Next season we will return to Sunday mornings. Once again the Tunnicliffes have offered to run the tuck shop, Gail will be doing the timekeeping and Penny Abrahams and Sue Humphrys have offered to help generally. Thank you in advance and I look forward to seeing some old faces together with new ones next October.
